Your pregnant body

Your pregnant body will be needing lots of iron, not least to help you create more red blood cells, and if you don’t have enough chances are you’ll be feeling very tired, if not exhausted.

Make sure you’re taking in plenty of iron in your regular diet and if you are concerned about your iron levels, talk to your midwife about taking an iron supplement.

It is at this point that it is very easy to put on extra weight without realising it, so it’s important to keep an eye on your weight gain.

Avoid sugary snacks and fatty foods, and try and keep to a well balanced diet. It is also important to keep up gentle exercise so that you are in good physical shape for the labour!

Now find out what you should be doing this week…
