One thing to look out for this week is a 'show'. This is when the plug of mucus that previously sealed your uterus has become loose and fallen out, as your cervix dilutes or opens in preparation for labour. This can happen over a week or overnight, so don't worry.
You may experience abdominal stretching, which is also called hot spots. This is an uncomfortable burning sensation across your tight abdoman caused by the pressure your uterus is putting on your abdominal muscles. The pain is superficial so if there is any deep pain then speak to your midwife or GP straight away.
Hot spots can be irritated by heavy or tight clothing so avoid tights and enjoy wearing loose, light garments that won't put any pressure on your body. Putting an ice pack on the spot can help to relieve the burning sensation.
