apples

Ingredients

  • 2whole large baking apple
  • 1tsp cinnamon
  • 1tsp raisin
  • 1tbsp butter

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C/350°F/Gas mark 4. Wash the apples and remove the cores to 1/2 inch of the bottom of the apples.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the cinnamon and raisins. Place the apples in a baking dish and stuff each apple with the mixture. Top with a dot of butter and add the boiling water to the baking dish.
  3. Bake for 30-40 minutes then remove from the oven, baste the apples with the pan juices and scoop the insides out into a bowl. Top with fromage frais. Chop before serving.

Hints and tips

It's much easier to hollow out the apples with an apple corer, but if using a knife, cut around the core and then hollow out with a teaspoon.
