Mum-to-be gives birth at maternity ward entrance
A baby boy was born at the Aberdeen Maternity Hospital entrance, inbetween the automatic doors.
As Leanne Muir, 29, from Inverurie, gave birth to baby Leon, the electronic doors continued to open and close.
Baby Leon arrived quicker than expected, with mum Leanne barely making it through the door. Holding a passerby’s hand, with her husband at the other end ready to catch the baby, the midwives arrived just in time to cut the baby’s umbilical cord.
Although a dramatic entrance into the world, baby Leon Muir was safe and healthy, returning home with his parents the following day.
“We just got there in time, and everything turned out fine in the end,” beamed the proud dad to BBC Scotland.
