Baby boy becomes only the third child to be born on the Tube.
Mum Michele Jenkins, 32, has given birth to a baby boy on the London Underground this week. The yet-to-named baby is the first boy to have been born on the Tube, and third baby over all.
Michelle realised her labour was starting while travelling on the Tube, on the Jubilee line. She got off at London Bridge station to try and find help. Tube workers helped her to a staff room, and used the station’s PA system to locate three doctors while they waited for an ambulance.
Michelle’s baby didn’t wait for the ambulance though, and before the ambulance had reached London Bridge station, Michelle had given birth.
A short while later, mum and her healthy baby were taken to hospital.
