A 66-year-old woman from Northern India has become the world’s oldest mum of triplets after IVF treatment.
Bhateri Devi, 66, welcomed two boys and a girl after IVF treatment at the National Fertility Centre in Hisar.
The triplets, born weighing 2lb 6oz, 2lb 4 oz and 1lb 7oz are being cared for in intensive care after they were delivered by caesarean section last month.
Although their birth makes Bhateri the oldest mum of triplets in the world, new dad, Deva Singha, 64, said he would do his very best for the children, adding, “I will provide all the best facilities for my children in the coming years.”
The news comes as the world’s oldest mum, 72-year-old Rajo Devi Lohan admits she is dying following complications from IVF treatment. She is mum to Naveen, 18 months.
