Mum gives birth to 16lb 2oz baby in Texas
Janet Brown has given birth to a baby boy weighing in at more than a stone.
When Janet had her caesarean booked for last Friday morning, she was not expecting to deliver one of Texas' biggest newborns ever.
"(The doctor) told us he was going to be about 12lb, but when he pulled him out it was a different story," Janet's husband Michael said, according to the Daily Mail.
Baby JaMichael was born with a full head of hair and was 24 inches long, with a head measurement of 15 inches and chest of 17 inches - the average size of a 3 to 6-month-old. All of the baby clothes bought for JaMichael had to be returned because they were already too small for him to wear.
During her pregnancy, Janet suffered gestational diabetes and because of this, JaMichael is currently having his blood sugar levels monitored in intensive care.
"I'm looking forward to bringing JaMichael home and just loving on him," Janet said.

While JaMichael Brown may set the record for being the biggest baby ever born in Texas, the Guinness Book of Records states the record is held by a Canadian mum who gave birth to a baby weighing 23lb 12 oz back in 1879.
Closer to home, Jennifer Foreman, from Burnley, gave birth to a baby boy weighing 13lb 2oz in November last year, making him one of Britain's biggest newborns ever.
"The midwife put him on the scales and then took him off again to reset them as she thought they must be wrong," Jennifer said. "They were all absolutely amazed that I'd given birth to him naturally - and so was I."
Now, at 9 months, Christopher is in clothes for 18-month-old toddlers, reports the Daily Mail.
