MFM wades into the debate over babies' needing separate tickets for London 2012 events in an interview with the BBC
Olympic organisers are reviewing their stance on babies needing tickets to attend London 2012 event, after mums and dads - and our very own Tara McBride - stepped in.
Parents whose little ones were conceived after they'd bought tickets currently have to buy an extra ticket for their baby, due to licensing and health and safety regulations.
With Olympic tickets difficult to come by, mums and dads took to the internet yesterday to vent their anger at the decision.
And today, mum-of-one and MFM's communities guru Tara McBride was interviewed by the BBC to defend parents' choice.
"Even big businesses allow children free access. On aeroplanes for example you can usually take babies under two for free as long as they're on laps," Tara said.
"Would it really do any harm to allow babes in arms? Allowing children would give them something to tell their grandkids about and pass on the legacy of the London Olympics through the generations.
"If it's an issue of keeping order, for example during times of focus in sports that require absolute quiet, like tennis, that's understandable. But in large arenas, why can't it be the parents' choice?"
Olympic organisers have responded to criticism that the Games are unfriendly for families.
A spokesman for London 2012 said: "Of course we understand that some new mums may want to take their babies to events they have tickets to and we will look at what we can do when the remaining tickets go on sale in April."
Pay your Age tickets for selected events may be available in April, where children aged one and under would be charged £1.
