If you needed another excuse to encourage your little water baby, the results of new will certainly help
Children who learnt to swim at a young age have better grip, reach and balance skills than those who didn’t, new research suggests.
Researchers in Norway and the UK looked at a group of 4-year-olds, half of which had taken swimming classes when they were babies, and half who hadn’t.
Those that had been taken to the pool early on and had swimming lessons for two hours a week for at least four months when they were babies, did better on prehension (grasping things) and balancing skills.
Researchers are now calling for more studies to see what other benefits swimming at a young age have, reports The Los Angeles Times.
