The actress gave birth to her first child on 4 September. One month after her baby girl's birth, Scarlett and husband Romain Dauriac secretly wed after 2 years of dating.

So how is the newlywed finding motherhood? "It's wonderful," she gushed. "It's very, very magical - and exhausting. The love is just unbelievable. It's very overwhelming."

Jennifer Garner

After Jen had her first baby Violet (she's since had a second daughter Seraphina with hubby Ben Affleck), she soon returned to work and found out that breastfeeding and being a working actress mum could be a bloody business.

"While I was filming The Kingdom, Violet would be there on set, and I would feed her and then go back out," she revealed.

"I was covered in blood and mud and dirt, and so her little sweet pink outfits would be caked in fake blood by the time she went home. She had blood across her forehead, and you don't want to see that on a little one."

Rachel Weisz

When Rachel Weisz gave birth to her son Henry, she found that she didn't need to go on a frenzied post-baby diet...

“I don’t really have a magic potion or pill," she declared when asked about how she lost her baby weight. "Nursing burns a lot of calories - 500 calories a day. So, if I could help promote breast-feeding, that would be a good way.”

Christina Aguilera

Young mum Christina Aguilera (like Rachel) found breastfeeding a surprisingly simple way to lose the post-baby bulge after giving birth to son Max.

"I think they say that when you're breastfeeding, your weight kind of slims down. It's like a workout within itself," she revealed, before adding something we may all recognise. "It's very tiring, though, and you find yourself snacking more often."

"I was like an alcoholic," she said. "It was like, 'I don't care if I cry, I don't care if I am fat, I am just going to do it for one more week, one more month, and then, when I see how much good it is doing her, I can't stop."
