Most famous as being Baby Spice in the 1990s girl group, The Spice Girls, Emma Bunton met fellow singer Jade Jones in 2001 when she was Baby Spice and he the lead singer in R'n'B boy band Damage.
In 2000, Emma had pre-cancerous cells removed from her cervix and was later diagnosed with endometriosis, a condition which that can affect fertility. "I remember the doctor saying at the time, 'Fifty per cent of women with endometriosis go on to have children.' I thought, 'Only 50 per cent...' It scared the life out of me. I was frightened," Emma admitted at the time.
However, in 2006, after Emma joined the clan on Strictly Come Dancing where she finished in third place, Emma and Jade announced that they were expecting their first baby together.
Emma admitted that she was relieved that the endometriosis hadn't affected her fertility. "I guess I'll be handing over the 'Baby' tag to a deserving little member," Emma said when she announced her baby news.
Emma found out she was pregnant with her first baby at the same time the Spice Girls had reunited to record a Greatest Hits album, five years after they announced their split. It also came around the same time Emma, Mel B, Victoria Beckham, Mel C and Geri Halliwell agreed to do an 11-show world tour the following year, meaning Emma would return to the stage merely a few months after she had given birth. It was set to be one busy year for Emma!
During Emma's pregnancy, she admitted that her pregnancy cravings included Coca Cola and flapjacks, and was pregnant at the same time as fellow Spice Girl, Mel B, who was expecting her second baby (whose dad is Hollywood actor, Eddie Murphy!) and was due to give birth four months before Emma. At the time, Mel C was the only Spice Girl member who wasn't a mum.
In November 2007, Emma and Jade welcomed their first baby, Beau Lee Jones. Beau was born in London's Portland hospital and weighed in at 7lbs 5oz.
"Baby's had a baby now. It's pretty good, just amazing. We're both over the moon and absolutely thrilled to bits to have our little boy with us now," proud dad Jade gushed after the birth. "He looks a bit like both of us actually, so he's a very lucky boy. It's an amazing feeling, which I can't describe. His name is French for handsome and he is definitely very handsome".
Just two months after Emma gave birth, she was reunited with Ginger, Sporty, Scary and Posh Spice for their reunion tour, where all the girls brought along their children!
Sadly, Emma was taunted for her curvier appearance on stage and was dubbed 'Chubby Spice'. With the tour being so close to the birth of Emma's son, she admitted that felt the pressure to be fit and look good, but didn't resort to "stupid diets". Emma revealed that she took her time regaining her pre-pregnancy figure by sensible dieting and hitting the gym.
"I put on a normal amount of weight when I was pregnant with Beau but it took me a year to get back to the weight I'd been before he was born. I did it very naturally and slowly," Emma said at the time.
As Beau grows up, it's clear that he has inherited his mum and dad's musical taste! "Beau’s favourite song for ages was Beyoncé’s Single Ladies," Emma previously revealed. "Jade and I were in the car with him the other day and as soon as it came on the radio, we turned around and saw him copying the same hand movements that Beyoncé does in the video. It was hilarious."
It also looks like if Beau decides to pursue a career in music, his parents will be right behind him. "He loves music and singing. Jade and I will be right behind him if he ever wants to be a performer, but we might try to make him a sporting star first!" Emma has said. Beau is also said to be best mates with Mel C's daughter Scarlett - Do we see a future romance on the cards?!
In November 2010, Emma and Jade announced that they were going to give their little music man a sibling. "So our family grows, we are SO excited to announce we're having our 2nd baby and Beau's wish for a brother or sister has come true," Emma announced on Twitter.
During her second pregnancy, Emma admitted that she craved the one food she wasn't allowed to have - raw fish! "I'm craving sushi and I can't have it!!" Emma tweeted. Emma also decided to keep things more chilled during her second pregnancy and kept her work schedule at a minimum, with stints as a Dancing On Ice judge and DJ-ing for Heart FM.
Near the end of Emma's pregnancy, she revealed that Jade had proposed to her after 10 years of dating. Despite Emma previously saying that the pair didn't need to get married to formalise their relationship, Emma proudly showed off her huge diamond ring on the DOI show.
On May 5, 2011, Emma announced on Twitter that she had given birth to another baby boy named Tate. "Our beautiful son Tate has arrived safe and sound! We are all so happy and excited." Tate weighed in at 7lbs and was born at the same hospital as his big brother, Beau.
