Hollywood actress Jessica Alba met her future husband Cash Warren in 2004 on the set of the film Fantastic Four, where she was playing a lead character and he was a director's assistant.
The couple got engaged in late 2007 and shortly after, they announced that they were expecting their first baby together. "I can confirm that Jessica and Cash are expecting a baby in late spring, early summer," Jessica's representative said at the time.
During Jessica's pregnancy, she admitted that all she thought about was food but revealed her pregnancy cravings were healthy. "I could always eat watermelon. I love fruit, too. It’s a decent craving. You still eat cheeseburgers and pickles - you just want watermelon really bad. I don’t deprive myself of anything. I eat whatever," Jessica said about her pregnancy food cravings at the time.
When Jessica was eight months pregnant, her and Cash married in set in a low-key ceremony with just the two of them present.
On June 7, 2008, Jessica gave birth to her and Cash' first child, a baby girl named Honor Marie. Honor was born at the celebrity favourite, the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
Talking about their daughter's name, Jessica explained the reasons behind it. "I was having a girls night and one of my friends said, 'If I ever had a girl - but I'm not having anymore kids - I would name her Honor.' I said, 'That's a great name for a boy or a girl'. And Marie is my middle name." Jessica also revealed that she wanted an unusual name for her daughter, as she'd always hated her own name!
"I was always irritated that my name was Jessica. Come on, it's a very 80's name. There were tons of Jessica's in every school I went to. There's something great about having a unique name - it's part of your identity."
Despite being quoted as saying she "never felt less sexy," during her pregnancy, Jessica admitted that becoming a mum helped her accept her body shape and flaws. "After my pregnancy, I felt liberated. I learnt to accept my body and to give less importance to my appearance," Jessica said at the time. "Even though some might consider them a flaw, I've learned to love my stretch marks."
The first pictures of baby Honor were sold to OK! magazine for an alleged $1.5 million.
After talking about how she'd consider adopting, in February 2011, Jessica and Cash announced they were going to be parents for the second time. "I thought I’d drop by to let you all in on some exciting news - Honor is going to be a big sister! Cash and I are thrilled and wanted to share the news directly with you so you didn’t hear about it somewhere else. I appreciated all of the love and support you all gave me during my first pregnancy and will definitely appreciate it again this time around," Jessica wrote on her Facebook page at the time.
Taking her second pregnancy in her stride, Jessica admitted she felt more at ease the second time round. "Every moment was so new and kind of terrifying and now I know what to expect,” Jessica explained. “It’s like, ‘It’s fine, I’ve been there before.’ With Honor, I was constantly like, ‘Is she moving? Is her heart beating?’ I’d worry about everything and with this baby, I don’t have the same anxieties.”
Jessica also showed off her growing baby bump in an array of gorgeous maternity dresses at showbiz events and on the beach in her maternity bikini during a family getaway to Mexico for her birthday. Jessica also admitted that she had ditched her designer heels in favour of flats, especially as she had a toddler to run after as well as a burgeoning bump.
Jessica kept fit during her second pregnancy and revealed that she liked to keep active whenever she could. "I still do something five days a week, from a half hour to an hour—nothing excessive, just some moving around. It makes the whole pregnancy so much easier. The more fit you are, the easier the birth is, and a healthier baby you’re going to have," Jessica explained.
She also cited her grandmother as an inspiration. "My grandmother was amazing. She would go home and would put on the clothes that she wore before she got pregnant with all five of her kids. It's definitely good genetics, but she also worked through all of her pregnancies. Just being on your feet and moving probably helped," Jessica said.
Jessica's due date was kept secret, but was thought to be around September (wrong!). Jessica revealed she's going to be trying hypnobirthing. "I was freaked my first time going into labour, like, 'What if I panic? What if I just freak out and am not prepared for it?' This just prepares you.
With Jessica and Honor being regulars at the celeb playground haunt Coldwater Canyon Park in LA, Honor is shaping up to be quite the perfect little mini-me of Jessica. Regularly spotted in matching outfits, Jessica often posts adorable pictures of her daughter on Twitter - like this cute one of Honor wearing her mum's glasses.
On August 13, 2011, Jessica gave birth to her second baby, a 7lb 19-inch daughter named Haven Garner Warren. The birth news was announced on Jessica's official Facebook page and again on Twitter.
