Kate and Matt's vital stats:
Kate Hudson, born April 19, 1979
Matt Bellamy, born June 9, 1978
Kate's children:
Ryder Russell Robinson, born January 7, 2004. Ryder is Kate's son from her first marriage to Chris Robinson
Bingham Hawn Bellamy, born July 9, 2011. Bingham is Kate and Matt Bellamy's first child together.
Kate Hudson and her first husband Chris Robinson, frontman for The Black Crowes, married in December 2000. Kate gave birth to son Ryder Russell Robinson four years later, in January 2004. Ryder weighed 8lb 11oz.
In 2006, Kate and Chris divorced due to "irreconcilable differences", papers said at the time.
It was announced in September 2009 that Chris and his new girlfriend were expecting a baby. Ryder, who was nearly 6 at the time, became a big brother to Cheyenne Genevieve Robinson in December that year.
In spring 2010, Kate began dating Matthew Bellamy (more commonly known as Matt), British lead singer of Muse.
In January 2011, there was speculation that Kate was pregnant with her second child with boyfriend Matt. The news was confirmed on January 13 by Kate's rep.
"It was not planned, but they are excited and embracing it," a source said at the time.
In February, Kate revealed she was suffering terrible morning sickness.
"I'm pregnant, and I'm really sick. But I couldn't say that because you really want to keep it as quiet as you can for the first trimester," Kate told The Times.
By April 2011, Kate was seven months pregnant and was spotted out with a growing baby bump. She then announced that she had become engaged to Matt, during an interview on The Today Show. No further plans for their wedding have been revealed yet.
Kate and Matt did reveal they were having a baby girl, after using their so-called pendulum test (we of course now know this was wrong!) and Kate even compared being pregnant to being stoned!
"Being pregnant is wonderful. You do get the pregnant mush-brain...it's like getting stoned," Kate told Extra at the time.
Doting dad and fiancee Matt was keen not to let Kate do all the hard work when it came to the birth. "I'll be there with rubber gloves on," he shared with a national newspaper.
Matt and Kate decided to have their baby in LA so their child could get dual US and UK citizenship. The couple plan to live in both countries and fly back and forth.
Heavily pregnant Kate didn't shy away from the cameras during her pregnancy and even graced the red carpet wearing a gorgeous black maternity gown and nude Christian Louboutin peep toe heels.
The Hollywood actress gave birth to a baby boy on July 9, 2011, who weighed 7lb 12oz. "Mum and baby are strong and healthy. Mum was a worrier, Bing popped out after 4.5 hours of intense pushing!" the excited dad tweeted. The couple asked friends and family to celebrate the arrival of their new baby son by planting trees. However Kate and Matt kept quiet about their newborn's name for a few days.
Four days after the birth, Matt announced via Twitter their newborn's name, Bingham 'Bing' Hawn Bellamy, after members of both their families.
For Kate's first red carpet experience post-birth, she went against other celebs and their one-time-only dresses and re-wore her black maternity dress. How refreshing to see a celeb mum work her pregnancy wardrobe after birth!
In August, proud dad Matt posted an intimate image on Twitter of his bride-to-be and their 1-month-old son, Bingham. He captioned the shot "Family life!".
Kate and Matt were also spotted in a North London cafe sneaking kisses with each other while baby Bingham slept in his Missoni special edition Bugaboo Cameleon.
Not only do Bingham and Ryder have doting parents, they are lucky to have great grandparents too. Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell couldn't wait for their daughter to have babies and have said on numerous occasions how extremely happy they are for Kate and Matt.
