Mum-to-be Jessica Alba about her cravings when she was expecting Honor Marie.

“She won’t eat unless I tell her not to eat. I have to use reverse psychology. I’m like, ‘Don’t eat your vegetables!’ And she looks at me and, in defiance, eats her broccoli.”
Hollywood mum Jessica Alba, on daughter Honor, 3

“We were just on the plane the other day and he was growling at the broccoli that he was playing with. He was like, ‘Arrrr!’”
Dreamgirls star Jennifer Hudson struggles to instil a love of greens in son David, 9 months

“They’re not quite at the age where I want them to cook breakfast for me. But they definitely should try to make me the best cereal they can.”
R&B star Usher, dad to Usher ‘Cinco’ Raymond V, 2, and Naviyd Ely, 21 months, reckons you’re never too young to don an apron.

“I’ve been cooking for him since he was six months old and he eats garlic, lentils, celeriac, raw chicory and fish. He’s never had chips, crisps or Mars Bars.”

You’re never too early to start in the kitchen, as Gossip Girl star Kelly Rutherford shows on a recent shopping trip, treating son Hermes, 3, and daughter Helena Grace, 1, to a mini mixer. Happy baking, kids!

There are no fussy eaters in Emma Bunton’s house. The former Spice Girl has admitted 2-year-old son Beau’s favourite treat is salmon and couscous, whipped up by chef daddy, Jade Jones. “Beau just loves this dish,” says Emma.

Yellow pepper, baby sweetcorn and sugar snap peas puree is popular with Laura Head, 21, from Bury St Edmunds, mum to Jack, 2, and Lola, 1. “A huge favourite. It looks and smells lovely. I used it to vary tastes, as some of the purées the kids were having were becoming samey.”
