Will and Jada's children:
- Jaden Christopher Syre Smith, born July 8, 1998
- Willow Camille Reign Smith, born October 31, 2000
- Willard Christopher III, born November 11, 1992. Willard is Will’s son from his first marriage to Sheree Zampino.
Budding actor Will Smith married actress Sheree Zampino in 1992. That year, they had their first baby, a son named Willard Christopher III, who was nicknamed 'Trey'. Will and Sheree divorced in 1995 but Trey remained in close contact with dad Will - so close he appeared in Will's music video Just The Two Of Us when he was a toddler.
Will met actress and singer Jada Pinkett on the set of the sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel Air. Jada had auditioned for the role of Will's on-screen girlfriend, but didn't get the part. While on-screen they wouldn't get to be a couple, off-screen things took a different turn, with the pair marrying in 1997.
Jada fell pregnant that year. It was her first pregnancy, and she described herself as "one big walking Chiclet," and said she "gained 50 pounds. I'm telling you, my thighs spread, everything spread!"
Will and Jada's first child together was born in 1998, and they named him Jaden Christopher Syre Smith. After the birth, Jada revealed it was a speedy one! "The doctor said it would take an hour-and-a-half to deliver him. I said, 'Oh it's not going to take that long. I'm too anxious to meet this baby,'" Jada said. "It took me 20 minutes to push him out. My mother's a nurse and she was in there with me and she was amazed!"
Jada also spoke about her strong views on breastfeeding. "I breastfed Jaden a good 18 months. That boy never even saw a bottle. He went everywhere with me - premieres, awards shows. I would just find a back room and hook him up," Jada said at the time.
In early 2000, it was revealed Jada was pregnant with the couple's second baby. During this pregnancy, Jada revealed her prenatal workout routine. "I work out at the gym probably four days a week for two to three hours." She also explained, "I do stretching and sculpting, lots of free weights to isolate the muscles. I also do cardio to keep my mental endurance high. Endurance really helps in labour."
In October 2000, Will and Jada welcomed their second baby together, a girl named Willow Camille Reign Smith.
Talking about her children's close proximity in age, Jada admitted Willow was an unplanned conception. "Willow was an 'Ooops' baby! I was just starting to wean Jaden and I'd only had one cycle since the birth, so I thought I had some time. Then I got my surprise..."
Jada spoke of how Will was a supportive dad-to-be. "Will loves me pregnant. So it makes it so easy! He knows about mood swings. He knows when to back off. He also knows to get me in a better mood."
Despite their young ages, it looks like Jaden and Willow are set to take after their celebrity parents career-wise. Making her debut playing Will's on-screen daughter in the film I Am Legend, Willow has since gone on to launch a pop career and was signed by Jay Z's recording label, Roc Nation, at the age of 9. Willow's first music single, Whip My Hair, entered the music charts at No.11. Willow is also set to star in the remake of Annie in 2011.
Willow's big brother Jaden has also starred alongside his dad in a film, The Pursuit of Happyness. Jaden also played the lead role in The Karate Kid remake. He's a dab hand at rapping too, featuring in Justin Beiber's song Never Say Never.
Jaden and Willow's older half-brother Trey has also been busy. Dad Will recently attended Trey's high school graduation from the Oaks Christian High School. Trey hopes to pursue a career in football.
Sadly, on August 23, 2011, it was reported by In Touch Weekly magazine that Will and Jada had allegedly split after 13 years of marriage. In the days that followed, Will and Jada made a public show of togetherness, issuing a joint statement: “The rumours about our relationship are false. We are still together, and our marriage is intact.”
