She might look like one of the most calm and practical members of the Royal Family, but Capt Mark Phillips, ex-husband of the Princess Royal, has admitted that his daughter Zara was a ‘brat’ when she was growing up, according to the Telegraph.
Speaking to a Sunday magazine, Capt Phillips said that Zara, who married England rugby star Mike Tindall last summer, was much more difficult as a child than her brother Peter, who was very well-behaved.
“He wasn’t much trouble at all. He knew where there line was and he didn’t cross it,” Capt Phillips said.
“Zara, on the other hand, who came along four years later, was much more difficult, much more of a brat. I don’t think she accepted the line at all,” he said.
Capt Phillips also said that, Peter, who has two young daughters, has already proved to be “a much better father that I ever was”.
Peter Phillips daughter Isla, who was born in March, was christened last Sunday in Cherington, Gloucestershire, with the Princess Royal at the ceremony.
Zara was selected for the British eventing team to compete in the London Olympics later this month.
