Beyonce's 1st pregnancy

In August 2011, Beyonce stole the spotlight at the MTV Movie Awards, revealing she was pregnant with a telling red carpet pose.

A crowd of photojournalists were snapping away when she told them: “I have a surprise!” and turned to reveal a 5-month baby bump.

Later that night, she came on stage and teasingly announced “I want you to feel the love that’s growing inside me.” She then put on a rip-roaring performance of her smash hit song Love On Top.

Beyonce didn't reveal much about her 1st pregnancy, largely keeping her blooming bump under wraps and staying away from the spotlight.

The 'secrecy' even prompted a wild conspiracy theory - that Beyonce was rocking a prosthetic bump, and that her baby was actually being carried by a surrogate or gestational carrier.

However, despite laying low, Beyonce did share a few pregnancy tidbits with her army of admirers.

In September 2011, Bey revealed her sense of smell was heightened - and she couldn't stand the smell of her hubby, Jay Z. She added in a behind-the-scenes video for her son, Countdown, that she was 6 months pregnant at the time.

In October 2011, Beyonce was papped with her bump on display. In November 2011, her Destiny's Child co-star Kelly Rowland accidentally let slip that she was having a girl!

As New Year's Eve 2011 approached, the internet had decided that Bey had given birth to a baby girl named Tiana May.

The rumour mill flew into overdrive... until Bey, bump and Jay were spotted enjoying a meal in public that is.

Blue Ivy Carter

On 7 January 2012, Beyonce and Jay Z welcomed their 1st child - a baby girl they later named Blue Ivy.

For a while, it was thought that Blue's name would actually be stylised as Ivy Blue, until Bey's sister Solange confirmed that the rumours started with a simple miscommunication over the phone!

Close pal Gwyneth Paltrow put the rumours to rest by tweeting: "Welcome to the world Blue! We love you already."

Reports said Beyonce chose to have an elective caesarean for her birth. However, she later confessed that she "barely recognised" herself during labour.

"I didn't feel that I looked beautiful during birth - but who does? After being pumped with all those fluids and gaining so much weight, with my swollen lips and cheeks, I barely recognised myself."

"I tried my best to roller-set my hair, and I wore my (lip) gloss when I arrived at the hospital. I committed to the end and wore my kitten heels. It makes me laugh thinking about it... but after many hours of labour, I didn't care how I looked."

We've seen lots of Blue Ivy on social media as she's grown from baby to toddler to little girl... just check out the family album below!

Beyonce's 2nd pregnancy

Beyonce's 2nd pregnancy came as a surprise to the world - and her announcement post near-enough stopped the internet for an entire day.

On 2 February 2017, Bey revealed the news that she and Jay Z were expecting twins with some colourful, Mother Earth-y bump photos. She was about 5 months pregnant in the pics.

Naturally, the above snap later became the most liked Instagram photo of 2017, and as of Jan 2018, still holds the title of 'most liked Instagram picture EVER'.

At 7 months pregnant, in April 2017, Beyonce's bump was on full display for a sweet snap with her mum Tina Knowles and Destiny's Child bestie Kelly Rowland, above.

During the final stage of her pregnancy, Beyonce's rep was forced to (strongly) deny that the star had enhanced her plump pout with lip fillers - explaining that she'd simply experienced some swelling as a side effect of being pregnant.

She also had fans speculating about the sex of her babies - superfans were convinced Beyonce was sending out 'signals' and 'clues' via social media.

We found it especially... unusual when fans were SURE that a pair of her earrings gave the game away.

Rumi and Sir Carter

On 13 June 2017, Beyonce gave birth to a baby girl and baby boy, at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, Los Angeles, California.

Her twins were named Rumi (girl) and Sir (boy). We didn't find this out straight away, though. Fans were quick to speculate on other, very believable baby names shortly after it was revealed Beyonce had given birth.

(Twins who would be sleeping in style by the way, lux baby brand Suommo reported that Bey and Jay had dropped approx £130k on 2 of their solid gold Dodo bassinets.)

Media Take Out reported that a source, who claimed to be close to the stars, 'revealed' the names to be Shawn Jr and Bea Carter. Obviously, the source couldn't have been that close... LOL.

At 1 month old, the twins' names were finally confirmed by Beyonce - who had officially applied to trademark them.

At 3 months old, the twins were carried in a handy twin car seat solution, by dad Jay Z.

We've yet to see many pics of the twins, but dad Jay Z and mum Queen B love posting stylish pics of themselves as a couple, and with their daughter Blue Ivy...
