Brad & Angelina 'split': questions over children if rumours are true

Rumour has it that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have signed a £205 million split deal and have worked out a plan for their six children

Is the fairytale over for Brangelina?
Is the fairytale over for Brangelina?

Brad and Angelina’s story began after meeting on the set of their 2004 movie, Mr & Mrs Smith, where the then married heartthrob first met the beautiful leading lady. Six years and six young children later (three adopted and three biological), rumours that the Hollywood power couple have split are rife.

Brad was noticeably absent from the recent Screen Actors Guild Awards and the Golden Globes, even though the 46-year-old was nominated for several gongs for his role in Inglorious Basterds. Speculation began circulating that the couple’s no-show was due to a rumoured ‘split deal’ which had allegedly been signed in late December 2009.

Despite being photographed as the happy couple a few months back, people behind the scenes are now suggesting that their overtly affectionate behaviour was all for the cameras. For behind the scenes, ‘Brangelina’ were apparently beginning to plan out how their fortunes would be split, and most importantly, what would happen to their six children.

Reports from The News of The World claim that the warring couple will split their £205 million joint assets and custody of their children equally. However the paper suggests Maddox, 8, Pax, 6, Zahara, 5, Shiloh, 4, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 17 months will live with their 34-year-old mum. After alleged visits to a Hollywood legal firm, the ‘contract’, which is believed to be a tailor-made version of a pre-nuptial agreement for unmarried couples, will divide their shared properties. These include their 5 houses on the Loz Feliz estate in Los Angeles, 35 bedroom Chateau Miravel in the South of France, an island in Dubai, several villages in Cambodia and a £1.2 million house in New Orleans.

If the rumours are to be believed, Ange is planning on taking the children to live at the Chateau Miravel for the foreseeable future whilst she films her next movie, The Tourist. Despite denials from ‘sources’ of the Jolie-Pitts that the couple are not splitting up, other insiders are claiming that the actress is already gearing herself up for single motherhood and has packed her bags! “Angie is throwing her energy into building a life after Brad. She’s already packed her's and the kids' clothes for an extended stay in Europe,” the National Enquirer has stated.

The reasons behind the supposed split include Angelina wanting to adopt another baby, plus her recent comments in German magazine, Das Neue, where she was quoted as saying, “I doubt fidelity is absolutely essential for a relationship,” and admitting that she gets so mad with Brad during arguments, that she sometimes “tears his shirt”.

With rumours that Brad has bought a house near their LA base so that he can be close to his family and constant speculations about their increasingly separate lives, we just hope that, if the rumours are true, their ‘rainbow’ family of six do not suffer.
