Carla Bruni and Nicholas Sarkozy have finally announced the name of their new baby girl, Guilia.
The birth of baby Guilia on Wednesday was a historical moment that made Carla Bruni the only First Lady since the time of Napoleon to have had a child with a president still in office.
“I am deeply touched by the many messages of congratulations that I have received since the birth of our daughter Giulia.
“On this happy occasion, my husband joins me in expressing our warmest thanks to all those of you who send us tokens of our kindness,” posted Carla on her website.
Guilia is the Italian form of Julia, which means forever young.
