We all know that when the Alice in Wonderland star Johnny Depp takes on a film role, he really gets into his character (think Edward Scissor hands, Captain Jack Sparrow and recently, the Mad Hatter). It seems that he brings his acting talents home to his children, especially at bedtime! Talking about how he uses different voices when reading to his children at bedtime, he revealed how Lily-Rose, 10, and John Jack, 8, are his biggest critics. “Oh yeah, I’ve had them tell me, ‘Stop! Could you just do your regular voice, dad, please?’ he told The Insider.
The 46-year-old actor’s children are unfazed by their famous dad’s day job, much to the delight of Johnny! “My kids know what I do, basically, but they don’t really care,” he revealed. “Maybe they’ll ask me about a part in a movie but they’re not interested, which I think is magnificent.”
Meanwhile another male celeb that has been talking about babies is Twilight hottie Robert Pattinson. The 23-year-old vampire heartthrob has admitting to feeling broody after playing the role of a big brother in his latest flick, Remember Me. “After working on this movie, whenever I see a part with a younger brother, or a part where I’ve got a kid…I just love the idea of that. I think I’m getting broody. It’s so bizarre,” he told Showbiz Spy. Something tells us there’ll be plenty of ladies willing to have your babies Rob!
Celeb dad-of-three Michael Douglas has revealed that he wishes he’d been a better dad to his 32-year-old son Cameron. Looking back to his earlier days as a first time dad, the 65-year-old actor admitted putting his career before fatherhood. “My priorities were very similar to my father’s. Career first.”
Michael’s eldest son Cameron is facing a jail sentence for drug possession and it seems that the actor blames himself. “The history of second generation actors isn’t great in our industry. It’s kind of a tragic road. Anybody who has a relative or child in substance abuse has some kind of idea what this feels like,” he reflected. Michael has two younger children Dylan, 9, and Carys, 6, with his wife Catherine Zeta Jones.
Elsewhere in celebville, the girls have been doing their fair share of baby talk. Beyonce’s sister Solange Knowles has revealed how her famous sis is a great babysitter to her 5-year-old son, Daniel. Solange gave 26-year-old Beyonce the thumbs up when it comes to her babysitting duties, telling OK! magazine, “Beyonce’s very hands on. I’ve had two weekend where I’ve been able to hand him over and she does a great job.”
But what about Uncle Jay-Z? “They actually request him more than I’m willing to give him! He’s a very good uncle and pretty cool.”
Actress Julianne Moore has revealed that she only got married because she wanted her children to have a stable upbringing. The 49-year-old celeb mum to Caleb, 12, and Liv, 7, was once told that marriage was a good ‘container’ for a family. “For me the only reason to get married was my children,” she told The Scotsman. “You can have friends in movies and plays you make, but they’re not your family.”
