Celebrity mums reveal their working mum secrets

Hollywood mum Gwyneth Paltrow has been canvassing her celeb mum friends for tips on being a working mum for her website Goop.com. Unfortunately the tips are more suited to a millionaire lifestyle than your average multi-tasking mum.

The Hollywood actress has two children with Coldplay front man Chris Martin. She asked her famous friends, including Stella McCartney, to add to her own advice, which has been criticised by mums on Twitter for being unrealistic and out-of touch.

Gwyneth’s top timesaving tips are:

• Schedule your time well.
• Focus on the task at hand. Be thorough.
• Plan a rough menu for the whole weekend and get the food in on Friday. Obviously stores and websites that deliver make this a dream. Having all of the ingredients means I'm prepared even when I don't think I am.
• The school run is a great time to return calls (in whichever direction that the kids are not in the car) so don't forget your hands-free device.
