New mum Chantelle shares her thoughts on her baby daughter
Chantelle Houghton has spoken for the first time about her baby daughter in her column for New! magazine.
The new mum, who gave birth to her first child with fiancé Alex Reid on Father’s Day, said she’s so happy her daughter has arrived and that “she’s so beautiful”.
“I’m so happy and excited my baby is finally here!” Chantelle said.
The 28-year-old revealed she was nervous about the birth. “In the days leading up to the birth, I had been waking up at 5.30am worrying about it – I was so frightened. I had a hospital appointment last Tuesday and they told me her head was engaged.”
“At that point the doctor actually decided against giving me an internal examination because she didn’t want me to freak out if she had to tell me that my cervix was opening!” Chantelle said.
“A month ago I couldn’t wait to have the baby as I was fed up of being pregnant but, as my due date got nearer, I decided I was actually happy for her to stay in there for a bit longer!”
Overjoyed new dad Alex took to Twitter on Sunday to share news of their baby’s arrival.
Chantelle has confirmed the baby’s surname, although there’s no word yet on the baby’s first name. What do you think it might be?
