Football star reveals the positive impact of London 2012 on his children
On the eve of the Paralympic Games, David Beckham has revealed how this year’s summer of sport has inspired his sons to follow in his golden-booted footsteps.
After watching several Olympic events with his three boys, the celeb dad told the Daily Mirror, “As I sat with Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz in the Olympic stadium I was overwhelmed with pride that I could take them to the 2012 games in the part of London where I grew up”.
“I know my boys have been inspired by what they’ve seen and want to try all sorts of different sports for themselves”.
David also applauded the “character and determination” of the Paralympic athletes and praised their families, saying, “As parents blessed with four healthy children, Victoria and I are humbled by the strength and energy of mums and dads who encourage their disabled children to take up sports.”
The sporting star concluded, “There is no greater life lesson you can give your kids than to ‘be the very best that you can’”.
