Elton John and David Furnish reveal their plans to teach Zachary all about his creation and make him proud of who he is
Sir Elton John and partner David Furnish have spoken out about their first year of parenthood and the worries that has come with it.
In an interview with Attitude magazine the couple revealed how 13-month-old Zachary has changed their lives for the better and their fears he could face difficulties in the future.
Commenting on his son, David says, “I think he’s going to have a lot of attention thrust upon him. He’s going to be potentially doubly stigmatised, because one of his parents is extremely famous and because he comes from two dads.”
The couple also revealed they have taken advice from counsellors to create Zachary a scrapbook, explaining his creation and how the intent was about love. They also made it clear they will “raise him to be proud of who he is.”
Sir Elton also commented on the future saying, “We’re going to have challenges, of course we are. But we talked about that before we had him.” He then gushed about his role as a father saying, “We have had the most incredible year with him. I can’t tell you how brilliant this year has been and how much love he’s brought us.”
And far from tiring 65-year-old Elton out, Zach seems to have given Sir Elton a new lease of life! “I don’t feel 65 which I will be next year. Now having a kid there’s so much more to do. There’s so much more I want to see happen before I die,” the pop legend said.
