Evangeline Lilly, Norman Kali and children - family facts

2011 - 2014

Evangeline Lilly, who was born Nicole Evangeline Lilly, met boyfriend Norman Kali whilst working on the TV series Lost. Norman was a production assistant for the film crew. Lost began in 2004, but it is unknown as to when the couple began dating.

In April 2011, Evangeline announced she was taking a break from her busy acting career, with rumours speculating that she was taking maternity leave.

“I’m definitely planning on taking a break for a little while. I consider acting a day job – it’s not my dream; it’s not my be-all, end-all,” Evangeline said in an interview.

While the rumours remained unconfirmed, in the same month, Evangeline was spotted with an obvious baby bump. Even when she was photographed with a blooming baby bump in a bright blue maxi dress, Evangeline still kept quiet.

“I have always wanted to have a child of my own and I will always want to go through the gift that women have been given to experience that, so I hope to be a mother at some point. I think I can allow myself one child - and from then on, I think I would have to adopt. It makes sense not to add to the population problem,” Evangeline had once stated (before the baby rumours began).

After months of speculation and no actual confirmation from Evangeline or her long-term partner Norman, the pair were spotted carrying a newborn baby!

Evangeline, Norman and their baby have been snapped on a number of occasions since May, despite all the secrecy before he was born. Evangeline is currently filming The Hobbit, returning to work only three months after giving birth. The family were spotted taking a stroll in New Zealand (the film's location) with a sort-after Bugaboo Cameleon buggy.

Eventually, it was revealed that the new parents had named their son Kahekili - a Hawaiian name which means 'thunder'.

2015 onwards

Fast-forward to June 2015, and Evangeline made a surprise red carpet bump debut at a premiere of her film Ant-Man.

She revealed to E! News that she was 7 months along, due in September 2015 and that she was having an easy 2nd pregnancy.

"This is my second time around, and I find I've been pretty lucky. It's pretty straightforward, and I just love it. I feel good, I feel blissful," she said.

She later appeared on US talk show Conan and divulged she wasn't planning to find out the baby's sex before the birth, as well as admitting that she and Norman were struggling to think of names for baby no 2.

Evangeline even revealed why her 1st child's name means 'thunder' - there was an 'epic, crazy' thunderstorm while she was giving birth to him.

US Weekly reported in October 2015 that the couple had welcomed their 2nd child.
