Swimming with your baby just sounds idyllic, doesn’t it? All that splishing and splashing, fun and exercise, finishing up with a nice warm towel. But there’s always that niggling feeling it could quickly go wrong. Yep, you guessed it – we’re talking about ‘bottom accidents’. It all seemed to go well for celeb Michelle Heaton, who tweeted, “Faith loved her first swim. We dunked her once slowly and no tears, so huge success.” But while it all went swimmingly (sorry!) for Michelle, there’s always that worry – what if it’s my child who brings a little something extra to the party? Nightmare visions of swimming pools being evacuated, the pool being drained and a lot of grumbling parents waiting to get back in the pool… eek. It’s enough to make you stay at home and avoid going to the pool ever again. A quick rally around the office revealed most have had to do the poolside dash to retrieve their in-pool-pooper. A battle-worn swimming teacher even told us they’d been thrown up on mid-swimming lesson. But, while a little accident isn’t the end of the world, being prepared is a good idea. Not only will this save some red faces, not being suddenly whisked out the pool will make the whole experience much calmer.
