Actor Mel Gibson, 53, confirmed he and his Russian girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva are expecting a baby when he appeared on The Tonight Show, the US chat show hosted by Jay Leno.
“It is true,” Mel said to host Jay Leno. The child will be Mel’s eighth.
Mel’s wife Robyn filed for divorce last month, after 28 years of marriage, due to irreconcilable difference. After this, Mel appeared in public with Oksana Grigorieva.
Mel said to Jay Leno that the situation was “unfortunate”. He said Robyn, mum to his seven children, was “an admirable woman”. Mel has said that his marriage ended three years ago and that he and Robyn had been separated from then onwards. He commented that: “I did a pretty good hatchet job on my marriage myself.”
