No, Pete’s not talking 50 Shades, rather his strict approach to getting his kids reading
Yesterday MadeForMums had the pleasure of meeting Mr Peter Andre, who revealed when it comes to getting his kids into reading, he’s in charge. Joining Pete at LeapFrog’s launch of the new LeapPad 2 and Leapster GS, he told us, “Kids are so into their parents’ iPhones. They’re not educational, they’re just games. This is the problem, and this is where my strictness comes in as a dad. I let Junior play a little bit and then I get him to sit and read and now at night he falls asleep reading, so he goes to sleep with something very positive and educational in his mind.” Pete reveals he loves creating stories with the kids rather than reading books. Although, Pete says daughter Princess loves Mr Men books. “She’s my Little Miss Stubborn,” Pete joked. The dad-of-two said it’s important parents show kids that the toys and gadgets specifically designed for them are cool. “Kids need to see their parents playing on these kids’ gadgets or reading, as they naturally do what their parents do,” he said. But Pete keeps some of his reading material to himself. “The kind of stuff I read I wouldn’t read in front of the kids,” Pete teased. Is he talking about 50 Shades of Grey we hear you wonder – “No, thanks”, Pete said. “I’m more into John Grisham, law books and things like that.” Pete chuckled, “He’s really made it hard for us guys, Mr Christian, he really has.” Oo-er! Pete told us he’s been getting into the Olympic spirit and says the kids are pretty sporty. Princess, or Bista as Junior calls her, has enrolled back in ballet and Junior and Pete are both going for their black belts in Kung Fu.
