Pregnant Lily Allen sports super high heels during shopping trip

The celeb mum-to-be reveals 6-inch platforms as her shoe choice, despite being 5 months pregnant

Lily Allen might be pregnant, but it seems that the singer isn’t ready to hang up her heels just yet if this picture is anything to go by!

The glam singer and mum-to-be, 25, opted for a pair of towering heels during her recent trip to Paris Fashion Week. She even wore them whilst on a shopping spree at the fashionable APC store.

Accessorising her platforms with an oversized handbag, Lily’s choice of footwear has raised concerns from The Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists.

“Weight gain and hormonal changes in pregnancy have a huge impact on the body. Muscles and ligaments soften and stretch because of an increase in the ovarian hormone, relaxin, which makes your feet more prone to ankle and ligament strains on a daily basis,” warns Lorraine Jones from The Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists.

"'High heels alter your posture, shorten your calf muscles and place increased pressure on your back and knees.”

However, it seems that Lily Allen isn’t alone in her desire to wear high heel shoes whilst pregnant. Danielle Lloyd was spotted donning sky scraping heels during her third trimester and according to a recent survey, the majority of pregnant women aren’t wearing ‘sensible’ footwear.

Would you/ did you wear heels during pregnancy?

I didn't have the energy to wear heels really when I was pregnant with my daughter. I am 19 weeks now with my second and feel much the same. They are for special occasions only haha! I am going out Saturday night and will brave a pair of 3" heels but they will go on at the last minute and come off the moment I walk back through the door! About 2 years ago

I am so clumsy I never used to wear high heels at the best of times.   When I was pregnant, no way would I wear large heels, too scared I would fall over and even after I had Harry a bit nervous in case I was carrying him and I went flat on my face!

You are lucky to be wearing trainers I was too swollen none of my shoes would fit me and I had to wear flipflops in October & November but when you are preganant dont feel the cold too much LOL!

Sarah glad you managed to put your post in!

I wore whatever went with my outfit! Heels cause no harm to the baby and only a slightly increased risk to the mother so i fail to see what everybody gets so excited about when celebs wear heels, it's not like they are doing a marathon in them! About 2 years ago
