Saturdays star Una reveals how newborn daughter Aoife Belle started choking in hospital
New mum Una Healy has told Hello! magazine how her newborn baby Aoife Belle struggled to breathe, sending her and hubby Ben Foden into an understandable panic.
“Aoife hade some fluid stuck in her lungs and when we fed her, she kept bringing it up… Then she started choking and was holding her breath,” said Una. “It was the worst moment of my life. There’s this precious little person who you would die for and you just can’t bear to think of anything happening to her.”
Rugby star Ben said, “We went into panic and pushed the emergency button and the next thing we knew, our baby was whisked away and there were alarm bells ringing and staff running around.”
Aoife has recovered and proud mum Una admitted there hasn’t been a dull moment since she’s become a mum.
Una, 30, took to Twitter last week to reassure her fans she’d be back on stage with girl group The Saturdays this summer, but was enjoying spending time being mum to baby Aoife.
Una’s also been using the social networking site to promote The Satudays' new single, 30 Days, and pointed out that Aoife Bele will be 30 days old on her Granddad Healy’s birthday. Aww! Does this mean she'll be following the latest celeb baby trend of monthly birthday celebrations?
Oh, and just in case you were wondering, Una’s cleared up the pronunciation muddle. "Aoife" is pronounced "ee-fa" for everyone who has asked:),” she tweeted.
