Suitable from 12 months. Makes four portions
4 tablespoons sunflower oil
2 onions peeled and chopped
2 carrots, peeled and cut into matchsticks
2 cloves garlic, crushed
540g rump beef steak, diced
1 teaspoon turmeric
½ teaspoon cumin
1 tablespoon mango chutney (optional)
Pinch of chilli powder
2 tablespoons tomato puree
200g frozen peas
400ml can coconut milk
1. Heat the oil in a large wok or frying pan and stir fry the onions and carrots for 4 minutes. Add the garlic and sauté for 1 minute.
2. Add the beef and stir fry for 4 minutes
3. Add the spices, mango chutney, chilli, tomato puree, frozen peas, coconut milk and veg stock. Bring to the boil and simmer covered for about 20 minutes.
Serve with rice or naan bread. Add extra chilli powder or flakes for adults.
