Starting her blog at the tender age of 11, two years on and Tavi, also known as ‘Style Rockie,’ has an impressive following of 4 million readers, raking in half a million hits a month.
With fashion designers, cult leaders of the industry and the press on her radar, elfin-like Tavi has graced the front covers of style bible Pop and Love magazine.
Her blog features comprehensive catwalk analysis from all the latest season’s shows as well as pictures of Tavi in her quirky daily outfits, sourced from vintage shops and markets. Praised for inquisitive eye and intense passion for fashion, Tavi however, sees herself as an average 13-year-old teenager.
“I’m a tiny 13-year-old dork that sits inside all day wearing awkward jackets and pretty hats,” Tavi describes herself on her blog.
Styling herself in mismatched Marc Jacobs getups teamed with lashings of vintage complete with a touch of geek chic with her oversized glasses, Tavi isn’t a teenage girl playing dressing up. The fashion industry takes her so seriously that she was seated at the front row of all the biggest fashion shows and has become a global style phenomenon.
Taking a week off to school to attend New York Fashion Week may not be on a normal 13-year-old girl’s agenda, but Tavi was chaperoned by her dad, who patiently waited outside each show, proving that not even a budding fashionista can escape the woes of teenage life!
