First impressions…

The hotel and grounds are a sight for sore eyes after a long journey, and it just gets better from there. The friendly hotel cocker spaniel, Peanut, greets you as you stroll to the front of the 17th century mansion house, and the staff are attentive and helpful. This is most definitely a hotel geared for families. Staff are friendly and at ease with children, while the hotel is equipped with an indoor play area and crèche, with toys and books to keep little ones occupied.

Facilities

There’s plenty on offer, from the many children’s play areas, which include trampolines, a table tennis table, football nets and a swing ball, in the extensive and beautiful grounds, to the spa, with its huge range of treatments and therapies, swimming pool, sauna and steam room – all with clean fresh towels, shampoos and shower gels thrown in.

And don’t forget the restaurant and its fabulous food, simple bistro style, produced with fresh local ingredients. It’s superb, as is the service and staff. A walled garden with wooden playhouses, vintage tractor, and scarecrows is another hidden gem.

Treatments

There are so many treatments available that there must be something for everyone. Mums-to-be can achieve 60 minutes of pure relaxation with the Mellow Mama treatment by Mama Mio, which includes a full body massage using safe but effective pre-natal techniques and Omega-rich oils to relax the lower back muscles.

Magic mummy moment

Falling asleep after a totally relaxing and professionally administered bump massage and waking for a gentle swim in the pool... bliss.
