Is your child in a nativity play?

Learning her lines

“Olivia’s been practising for the nativity play with her sister. It was hilarious watching her wheeling the ‘Baby Cheeses’ around in a pram, and asking for crisps because ‘Baby Cheeses’ was hungry.”

Fiona Woods, from Northern Ireland, mum to Sofia, 5, and Olivia, 3

Playing the name game

“Last year, Olivia just couldn’t get to grips with the fact that Father Christmas is also called Santa Claus. As Christmas got nearer, each day she’d ask, ‘Is today the day that Santa Christmas is coming?’"

Fleur McCrone, from Kent, mum to Rosie, 6, Olivia, 3, and Archie, 1

A star is born

“My husband Dom took Alex to church and had to sit right at the front, as the church was packed. Alex managed to wedge himself under the pew out of Dom’s reach and sang Jingle Bells at the top of his voice during the priest’s sermon. Afterwards, the priest said he had to bite the inside of his cheek to stop himself laughing!”

Lorna Dow, from Haywards Heath, mum to Alex, 5, Will, 3, and Jessica, 8 months

Who ate all the pies?

“Last Christmas Kayleigh ran straight past her presents to the spot where we’d left out mince pies for Santa Claus and said, ‘Wow, Santa ate the lot!’. She stood staring at the empty packet for about five minutes and wasn’t the least bit interested in her presents.”

Paula Fazekas, from Luton, mum to Kayleigh, 3, and Ethan, 16 months

An alarming concern

“My daughter Bella was worried about Santa making a mess when he came down the chimney, and that he wouldn’t be able to get back up afterwards. We reassured her that he could always use the front door, to which she replied, ‘But what about the burglar alarm?’”

Melissa Havers, from London, mum to Bella, 5, and Toby, 3

Reindeer snack attack

“A couple of years ago, Joshua insisted that reindeer ate fish fingers and made me cook them and leave them out on Christmas Eve. This year, we’re looking forward to our first family Christmas together now daddy’s back home from Afghanistan.”

Traceyann Plant, from Walsall, mum to Joshua, 7, and Isabelle, 5 months

Scary Claus

“Ava was quite frightened that a man was allowed to come into the house. She was, like, ‘Are you sure he’ll go away afterwards?’. I said, ‘He’ll just come in, put the presents down and shoot off’. She was so frightened that he’d be wandering around the house!”

Myleene Klass, mum to Ava, 4, and Hero, 7 months
