When Mia was born we loved our Gro Egg. It has different coloured lights for the room temp. I was terrified of getting things wrong and it had a digital display too so you knew the exact temp. I was a lil overkill as a new mum and this helped me loads. Also, parts of our old bedroom were freezing and other parts roasting.

Now, it's the GroAnywhere blind. It's awesome to block out the light otherwise I have two kiddies up at silly o'clock. It can go with them when they sleep out, has no cords to get taffled in and is massive to cover our large windows.

I cannot live without a Tommy Tippee pelican/ scoop style bib, my 18 month old son, Lennon is constantly eating and gets in a real mess!! without it i would constantly be changing his tops, and i can also put his snacks in the bib and he takes them around with him.  Also the Little Life back pack with strap is great for when he wants to walk but i need to keep him nearby, and the funky shark design means he looks so cute!!!

Aww, they are cute backpacks. We got Mia the Ladybug one but need to get Ava one now. I'm thinking the little fairy wings one. I love all the shark stuff for boys though. With the swimming caps and floats and things. So cute.

I couldn't live without our grobags. When my first daughter was born she wriggled around so much that she was always kicking off her covers, but the grobags solved the problem completely.

Hi pebble and Michala,

I would love to hear more from both of you about what's so great about the 'Snack traps' and 'grobags' and what brands you use.

Many thanks,

Oh, I forgot another one that is my favourite but a bit odd. Colour Catcher sheets. There is nothing worse then having your scrummy new baby and finding that their clothes look dingey. Some clothes that are white with contracting strips look really tatty and it can be really upsetting. Colour Catcher sheets are incredible and I still use them now. You know when you watch the advert and they put whites in with a bright red top and you think it's a con. it really isn't, I do it and it is amazing the difference. Even with things you've had for ages and washed a gazillion times.

I agree when harry was a baby - gro bags are brilliant but I only used "gro bag" baby sleeping bag, we also had the gro egg, helps to know you are keeping them at the right temp, something less to worry about.

Snack traps are also good and he still uses that now.

I love those little back packs you have a reign on so the kids dont think they are on reigns but you can keep hold of them, we dont have one bt I think they are cute too.

I had never heard of Grobags until my eldest daughter was a few months old. Until we bought one, we had a real problem with her kicking off her blankets. Grobags are little sleeping bags that unzip from the bottom and do up with poppers that go over the baby’s shoulders. This makes it impossible for them to kick their covers off. They also can’t pull them over their heads, which can be a risk with blankets. They come in different tog ratings (thicknesses) for different times of the year. We used them until she was 2 and a half and moved to a bed. Grobags are one particular brand, but Mothercare sell a similar product called a “Snoozie”. We have several of each in different sizes. Because they can’t kick their covers off, they don’t get cold at night and I really think they have helped my daughters to sleep through the night. Whenever one of my friends is pregnant, I buy one for them as a new baby present because it’s the one thing I wish I'd known about from the start.

I've used different types of gro bags but often found that other versions are just as good and a fraction of the price. In the early months my baby would'nt sleep without one although now at 18 months he wont use it as likes to be moving around when he first wakes up in his cot. Also going back to my recent comment about the tommee tippee bib, I tried so many other versions of a pelican bib but this is the only one that works for us,( frog one from ikea, complete waste of time, bearly on for a minute!!) the others could be taken off far too easy!! which is why we now have 3!!! Just shows cheaper options are not always as good.

my maternity pillow, the v shaped ones, i got it from tkmax its was £26 at first i thought is was pricey, but it was well worth the money, ive used it since i was 10 weeks pregnant and louie is now nearly 8 months and im still using it.

during pregnacy i slept with it to support my bump and inbetween my legs which helped with my pelvic girdle pain.

then during labour i used it to make myself comfy, when louie was born i used it to breastfeed him, then since he was born ive used it to encourage tummy time, and since 6months ive used it to help support him to sit and to have behind him in case he falls over backwards.
