I'm writing a piece on summer pregnancy health and I need tips from three mums or mums-to-be on how they dealth with a particulrt summer health dilemma. For example did you/do you...

Have a great way of keeping cool?

Have a great solution for hot puffy uncomfortable feet?

Know of a good natural insect repellent?

Have tips for keeping comfortable on a flight/journey?

Or do you have any other summer health tip that really worked for you and which you'd love to share with mums-to-be?

If you can help, I'd love to hear from me - just email jane.yettram@ajjn.freeserve.co.uk. Thank you!

Running your hands, particularly the insides of your wrists under cold water for a few minutes cools the whole of you down. The theory is it cools the blood in your veins as they're close to the surface in your wrists.Cool blood then flows round the body.
I've had two October babies so I was vast in the summer and it worked for me

I have a september baby and am now having an august baby. And i found the thing that helps keep me cool is to eat ice poles lol that was a craving i had with my first child and seems to be a craving i am getting with this one too.

The other thing i did when expecting my first was to get all the chores and housework done in the morning when i got up, that way i could enjoy the rest of the day and not have to be working in the hottest part of the day.

My first son was born in late september. I hated being huge in the summer so much that I vowed it would never happen again! My second was born in the first week of june and this one will be born on 1st of May so I have escaped the hottest months.

With my 1st my feet and lower legs swelled up so much that none of my shoes fit. I had to buy slippers that were two sizes bigger and wear those in town!

What helped me was to get hubby to massage my feet at least twice a day! I normaly hate having my feet touched but they were so sore that it realy felt amazing!

I also used to sit on the couch with my feet higher than my head.

I often sat in the garden after dark with my feet in a bucket of cold water and after everyone was safely in bed I would open the front and back door for at least an hour to bring the tempriture of the house almost down to outside so that I could get some sleep. You need to sit in almost total darkness though or you will invite all the moths in!

Come to think of it, my neighbours probably thought I was the strangest person they had ever met! You'll do anything to keep cool though especially when your pregnant.
