Top Tips for Baby Swimming

Hi all

I would love to hear from anyone who has some top tips about baby swimming - best time to go, when to feed, when to start, what baby should wear - changing tips, etc

The article is about babies - so your child must be 14 months or under - and you should be happy to submit a picture of you and your baby to the magazine.

oh dear holly is too old

I am not sure if I am too late for this but I took my son swimming from the age of 3 months. He LOVES it! We attended classes and it was recommended to feed the babies no less than an hour in advance of the sessions whether it was milk or then solids as he grew older. We got the "happy nappy" which is made of neoprene to avoid any embarrassing leaks- again recommended by our teacher. Jack is now really confident in the water and still loves swimming now that he is 13months. I take him weekly with some of my yummy mummy friends. He even is happy going under water as we were taught to use "key words" to prepare the babies for this. i have a fab photo of him under water which I can send u if you are interested?! I hope this is the kind of thing you are looking for!?

I'd be happy to help. My daughter is 12 months and has been swimming since she was 3 months old (my 3 year old has also been swimming since 3 months). I'd be happy to help and I've got a couple of great pictures you are welcome to use as well.
