Who was your birth partner?

Hi everyone. I'm writing a birth stories piece for PP on "unusual birth partners" so I'm looking for mums who had someone other than their man with them when they gave birth (either as well as their partner or instead of him). So if you - or someone you know - had granny, mother-in-law, friend (male or female),daughter, son, colleague....anyone different at the birth, I'd really love to hear from you as soon as possible. For the article I'd just need to chat to you for half an hour on the phone, it would be important that your story hasn't appeared in any other websites/publications and your baby would still need to be under 12 months. my partner has always been my birth partner but this time both my partner and my sister are going to be there

My mum was my birth partner for both my boys and with her 27th grandchild on the way, she is perfect for the job! she is going to be at this birth too so that is good, it's the only bit I'm not worrying about!

My boys are four and nearly two though so I guess we don't count

its probably no good but its just a funny story,my partner was my birth partner but he was far from sober when i went into labour as we'd been out to celebrate his 21st so he kept drinking my water lol

Hi my neighbour was my surprise birth partner when my waters broke at home with my husband on the way home from gatwick. She rushed over and delivered my baby who was breach. This all happening in my living room with my 2 other children a sleep upstairs.

My mother in law was present at the birth of my youngest son who is now three month old. She was only there because my son was born within an hour of labour starting and wed just called her to come and look after our other children, as she got there so did the paramedics who delivered my son while my husband helped and my mother in law was there. this was all going on as my other two children slept soundly down the passage. it was the best birth experience ive had.

My son is just turned 14 months and I had a home birth. My birth partners were my husband and my then 13 year old step-daughter - one holding each hand telling me to push while I squeazed hell out of their hands Much fun though and such a really lovely birth with everyone there that mattered! A very personal experience that none of us will ever forget.

Hi there altho my son is now 4 i had my husband,mum,dad,sister in law(popped in)and mother in law all taking it in turns in being with me.My mum dad and hubby were with me at delivery.
