Would you stay in bed for 10 days after giving birth?

I’m writing an article for the December issue of Practical Parenting and want to speak to new mums who disagree with the idea that all women should stay in bed for 10 days after giving birth.

So I would love to talk to you if:

- you made a point of coming out of hospital and getting straight back to your life as soon as possible.
- the idea of spending over a week in bed after giving birth leaves you horrified
- you gave birth in the last 12 weeks.

I had an emergency C-section for my first,yet still left the hospital at the first opportunity.

Babies two & three-normal deliveries-I left hospital within hours.

Number four arrived a month early while we were on holiday. Born perfectly healthily at 1pm,we took her & her brothers & sister to the circus at 5pm !

By number 5,I dispensed with hospitals completely & had a fabulous planned homebirth.

Mums need to get up,get moving & embrace life with thier new baby,unless there is a medical need to do otherwise !

I had a section with my son (now 14mnths) and stayed in hospital due to complications with his breathing, the first thing i wanted to do when i was discharged was get out wander round the town and sho him to the world, I find when having a off day in the first few days home the best thing to do was to get out in the fresh air sitting at hme or  staying in bed made me feel useless and lathargic!
