i am really at a loss of what to do. Sam has always from day one slept well, even with reflux needing meds he has woken up once or twice in the night for feeds and immediately ]. The last 3 weeks have been awful, he moans really loadly in his sleep, he seems half asleep definatley not fully awake, we have tried food but it isnt that. We have tried cuddling him and it seems to upset him more so we have just been agnoring it as much as we can but last night he got upset. It is literally all night long from about 10pm. We have always had the same routine same bedtime, i have followed the baby whisperer literally from when we wer in hospital. I am totally flumoxed

Could it be his teeth? My boy is a good sleeper, but sometimes he lets out a big wail / moan when he is still pretty much asleep, and it seems to coincide with when his teeth have been bothering him. It normally just takes a cuddle, but if he wakes properly a bit of teething gel settles him down. If he doesn't want to be cuddled have you tried just resting your hand on him so he knows you're there?
Hope you get it sorted.

Sounds like teething to me. If he is old enough, a dose of calpol before bed will help x

At 6mths it would definitely coincide with teething pains. As others have said, a drop of Calpol or some Bongela just before putting LO down for the night may help him sleep more easily.
Whilst teething baby's saliva will also become slightly more acidic which can cause some tummy upset, cold like symptoms & red sore bottoms which may also explain some of the discomfort.
