    Hi all

Spencer turns 6 months on the 20th & is 18lbs. He's currently on 26 oz (two 8oz & two 6oz) bottles per day and 3 meals. I'm using Hipp Organic or Heinz Mums Own jars at the moment cos I ran out of cubes in the freezer & haven't managed to make any more yet.

I'm so worried about portion size. The HV said if he was eating too much he'd just throw it up (which he doesn't) and if he was hungry he'd let me know (he sure does!). I love to know how much your LO's ate when they were 6 months.

Today Spencer has had (not including bottles):
2oz formula (taken from 8oz breakfast bottle) mixed with baby porridge & mashed banana
half jar Hipp Creamy Parsnip & half pot Heinz Fruit Custard (and couple oz boiled water to drink)
    whole jar Heinz Orchard Chicken

    Thanks ladies x

    Hi
Eva was 6 months on the 5th and eats roughly the same amount.
She will have a 5oz bottle then some porridge for breakfast, Half jar of savoury and then a yoghurt for lunch and half jar of savoury and half jar fruit or fruit pot for tea. She also has 5oz milk mid morning and afternoon and 5oz at bedtime.
She has never had a huge appetite for milk and 5oz is most can get down her at any one time!!
Was unsure about portion sizes too but she tells me when she had enough, Very loudly!!!
    xx

hi i've learnt not to worry too much over portion sizes my lo at 6 months ate less than yours and was fine and now at 10 months, he nearly eats more than me, when he's hungry he lets me know and this started last week when he's had enough he throws his bowl at me. such a delight.

Hi, my baby boy is 7 months and he eats:
Breakfast - 7oz bottle then I give him baby breakfast about 30 mins after bottle.
Lunch - 1 jar of stage two & 1 Petit Filous & he has some Evian water in a beaker that he mainly spits out!
Afternoon - 4oz bottle (but sometimes he refuses this)
Dinner - 1 jar of stage two & Evian water as above.
Bath (he drinks the bath water if I let him!) & 7oz bottle before bed.

I worried that he isn't having enough milk so I give him the Petit Filous. I have just started to give him rice cakes in the afternoon now.

My baby is a very good eater and does refuse food when he is full. He doesn't appear to be a fat baby (yet!) so I don't think I am over feeding him and he doesn't want anything more at the moment. He has lost his appetite for milk though since weaning so I move him up to the step-up milk which he seems to like more although I think it tastes horrible! (I can taste the iron supplement).
