I noticed a mole haad changed on my arm at the weekend and was going to the drs with reece any way so asked her to have a wee look at it thinking she would say its nothing but Im now waiting on a phone call today or tomorrow to go and get it cut out as she said pregnancy can cause mole changes and 'wee nasties' as she put it.

I am level headed and do know the likelihood is that I will be OK I am very fair with blonde hair and have loads of wee moles but my fear of flying has prevented me from going on holiday in 10 years and was only away 4 times with mmy parents (only LOL I was v lucky) bbut I did get badly burnt when awaywhen younger.

has any one else experienced this?? (also in due in march))

    Hi hun,

when I was pregnant I had a mole change on my belly. It went crispy and hard then turned dark brown and then fell off. I was really scared so also booked to see the Dr who said that pregnancy hormones do cause skin changes and that changes to moles were just one of them.
He had a look and said it was fine. It is now back to normal.

    Hope this helps xxx

hi there, I am covered in moles (84 on my back alone!!) and I have 3 cut out over the years. Just to reassure you it will almost probably be nothing and just a precaution. all of mine removed were benign but they all have a chance of turning malignent.

When I was 16 I had to go to local hospital photographic department and stand there starkers while 3 males photographers too pictures of all of my moles (took hours!!) so the hosptial have photographic records of every moles and they can compare if I think a mole has changed. YOu may want to ask if they'd do this for you, or the other option is to take photos of your own and keep to compare changes.

The thing to look out for are changes in colour in a mole and it going "fluffy" around the edges, its quite large and raised, bleeding, itchy or scaly moles. Now I have all of these on some moles and just have to keep any eye for more changes. it can be worrying but I can't let it rule my life and I still sun bathe, I just ensure I wear a good factor sun cream and I keep out of the midday sun and don't lay in it for too long

I'm sure yours will turn out to be okay, but best to get it checked

    hi hun

i had exactly the same thing happen to a mole on my leg, i hadnt noticed it had changed until i was about 38weeks pregnant, went to my gp who didnt like the look of it and thought it best i had it removed, so went to hosital at 40 weeks preg, but they wanted to wait until id had baby before doing it, so when lo was 2 weeks old i had it removed under local anaesthetic. the results came back clear so thats great!

Hi, yes I had this a few months back - I had a funny flat mole that started itching - and like you I expected to be fobbed off by the docs. He just said, well we don't take any risks with moles! And they booked me into the surgery to have it cut out.

I was quite surprised at how much he cut out tbh! But they gave me a local so it was quite pain free. But they did put 3 stitches in, and I had to go back a week later to have the stitches taken out.

Apparently it was fine - not dangerous at all. Your doc is just (rightly) being over cautious. xx

Tottie - it is surprising what they cut out!! I had a 2cm diamater mole on my back removed and my scar is nearly 3 inches long!!

its good that they don't take any chances anymore, when I had my first one cut out 17years ago they didn't seem to take it that seriously but now they don't hesitate

I am the same as claire a belle! Very moley indeed and have also had three removed (all benign). I also had a funny thing under my big toe nail and the GP was concerned enough to ring up and ask when I could be seen at the hospital there and then (no, waiting for an appt to come through the post!). That was a Friday and they saw me on the Mon! Needless to say, I spent the whole weekend bricking it - and it was nothing.

I've also had the photograhs done and go back to see my dermatologist in Oct - she did say when I saw her in August and was just pregnant that I would notice changes (especially skin tags - urgh!).

I'm sure all will be fine. They tend to just whip them off / out as a precaution and then figure out whether they are nasties are not. Better to be safe than sorry X
