Last year i wrote to say that i was terrified my son at 20wks was diagnosed with a heart condition called Tetralogy of fallot, well here is the update
Angus born full term (21st October 2008, 8 pound 4 oz, 50cm long) and although we had an emergency as his heart rate dipped he was born perfect, he wasn't blue and even cried which we were over the moon as we were told he would be sick and we may not see him until they did an operation or did some tests.
He is now 8months old, every time we go to the Cardiologists at Princess Margaret Hospital we are told that is is great and they can not believe just how good he is doing, he is due to have his open heart surgery in October 2009 and although i am very nervous i know he is in good hands.
As for my husband, his Leukaemia is in remission and although its in remission he has to do chemotherapy for maintenance, which it will be once a month for 2 yrs. We have been through a lot in th past year but i count my blessings every day. My husband and my son may be seriously ill but i am so fortunate to have them and my friends and family by my side for support.
I know the next few years will still be a rollercoaster ride but i know i have a lot of support to get me through.
thanks for reading
