If so, what do you think of it? Is it worth it?? Just thinking for when my lo is 6 months as she has 1st milk in the day at the moment and hungry baby at night, and just wondering whether to replace the HB with goodnight milk??

    Thanks

hi i use the goodnight milk and it has worked like a dream with both my girls Lexie would wake 2 sometimes 3 times before having this she was bf and this was the only bottle i added. Now with Leah shes bf too and she would wake once twice on a bad night but ive been giving this for a couple of weeks now and shes sleeping right through from 9:30pm - 8am i swear by it and will use it again if i have any more children just make sure you have a vari flow teat or fast flow and shake it really well.i just think they needed something a bit extra to get them going through the night. hope this helps

Thank you for your replies! Sounds like I am going to get it! That is the reason I am using HB at the moment - just to help her sleep that little bit longer! We already use fast flow teats so that is ok! Does it need to be added to warm water??

Good night milk is good, it's thinkened with rusk so more filling from them.

Bearing in mind at 6mths you'll start (or have started weaning) so food may fill her up so you don't need it. Personally once weaned and having some food in the evening I'd try normal follow on milk (or first if you're going to stick with that) and go to hungry baby if she starts waking again (though this can be teething and whatever else by that stage).

I have been using it for the past month as DS started waking an hr earlier and has been refusing his food at times due to teething and being stubborn. It did help him go through to his normal wake up time but I do now cheat and do 1/2 standard follow on milk, and 1/2 goodnight milk so it will last longer.

You don't have to add it to warm water (though I think it desolves a bit better if you do). When you start just beware as if it stands for a while, or they take a while to drink it, there can be problems with the teat blocking as it seems to go into lumps or settle in the teat so it gets blocked.

Thanks kristinmc. Definitely things to bear in mind! My HV said follow on shouldn't be necessary if she is having meat at fish so I shall stay with 1st and see how she goes!

Maybe I might try 1/2 and 1.2 like you are doing? She does tend to stir about 4/5am and I have to go and settle her back to sleep! It would be lovely for her to go to 7 maybe! I might be asking too much though! She is already on 3 meals a day

I use the Cow and Gate Good Night Milk and have done since my LO was 6 months (shes 8 1/2 months now) when i also moved her onto the follow on milk. I do think it makes a difference as she was just on the normal milk before and sometimes her tummy was rumbling when she woke in the morning. I would say tho that its apparently just a thicker version of follow on so you might just want to stay on HB if you arent interested in the follow on milks (think its just extra iron).

    Hope that helps abit.
