    Hi Ladies

I'm thinking of trying Tyler with some baby rice before bed as loads of people have commented how ready he is for weaning and he also wakes 3 times at night for food despite having his full amount and is on a 3 hour feed routine.

Just wondering, for those that do this, what time do you give them the rice (how long before bed).

    Thanks

    Sarah+Tyler(15 weeks)

hi, agree with mummy2grace, weaning is not recommended before 17 weeks at the earliest. do u think he's redy, or is just other people? is he sitting well with support, doubles his birth weight, waking more frequently (although bare in mind there is usually a grwoth spurt 14-15weeks), eyeing up ur food, putting anything and everything in his mouth and good hand to eye corodination? also a tiny bit of baby rice before bed really isn't going to make any differnce to his sleep as at his age he'll only be able to squeeze in max of one teaspoon...plus, if u do decide to go ahead its recommended to try new foods earlier on in the day (ie breakfast or lunch) just in case there is any recation to it, u'll be able to see, where as if a recation occurs once he's in bed u won't know as soon. xx

Just to echo what the others have said. For me starting solids didn't equal more sleep. I started giving a bit of baby rice at about 19 weeks but after 2 days realised he juat wasn't ready. He had been waking more in the night previously but it was more milk that he wanted not solids. After a week or so feeding him more at night he slept through. This was just before 5 months and then I started solids at 5 months and he was ready for it then.
