in my little girls room she has 2 drawers, one 3 drawers and one had 5.

shes started pulling up onto everything and we've noticed shes started pulling out drawers and is soon going to tip them over!! what do we do? remove them from her room completely?

are there are child proof drawers out there?

i cant leave her alone in any bedroom as she will do it in all rooms?

so worried, she clings onto kitchen chairs and topples over when im not looking.

    shes nearly 10 months.

How badly does she fall because Iz does it but she just falls on her bum and then gets back up so so long as there is nothing dangerous in the drawer it is not an issue x

I would say you could get baby safety drawer catches which will stop the drawer at a certain point so that it will neither open nor close until the catch is pressed. The problem is that as your LO grows they are watching you and learning from you and once they have the strength they will learn how to activate the catch also. My 20mth old is now driving me nuts as she can open just about everything she shouldn't, the one catch she hasn't yet figured out is the one on the dustbin and I'm sure it's again just a matter of time.

a set of drawers are an ideal climbing frame to a child however can easily be pulled over.

you should be able to find some fittings to help secure the drawers to the wall - try B&Q or search the internet.

When my eldest (now 10) was about 2 he once pulled the bottom drawer out almost all the way, then the second to bottom one out almost as far etc and used the chest of drawers as steps so he could climb and try to reach a shelf that had his disney toys on. The chest itself was attached to a wall luckily, or I reckon it would have toppled, but he did manage to fall off and hurt his shoulder (luckily he fell onto the bed - it could have been much worse)

Once we'd learned he could do that we attached some drawer catches and he couldn't do it again. They were a pain when we wanted to access the drawers, but it stopped him climbing them and gave me the peace of mind to be able to leave him to go to sleep in his room without fear of him falling again.

I'd definately recommend getting some drawer catches.

So long as you have the drawer catches then your lo shouldn't be able to open them far enough to unbalance them. Failing that you'll have to attach them to the wall. We're in rented accomodation, but so long as they're attached by someone who knows what they're doing so they don't make a mess of the wall you should be okay - landlords have to appreciate you have to put your lo's safety first.

    Hope it works xxx

I agree with Poppygirl - your LO's safety is no1 priority. You must get them attached to the wall ASAP. There are stories in the news all the time about children dying after chest of drawers falling on them. I particularly remember a horrible one from a couple of years back where 2 year old twins were killed.
