i use full fat cows milk on evie's cereal and in some of my cooking ie cheese sauce, she is 8months. at what age can i give it to her to drink (with meals in her beaker... i would still give formula in her bottles). she drinks water at the minute but not a great amount and im worried with the summer here that she should be drinking more and perhaps she'd like cows milk. i've tried juice but she's just not interested X

I think as long as it is as well as formula she should be fine. There isn't enough vitamins and iron in cows milk for it to be their main drink under 12 months but as long as she is still getting the same amount of formula it shouldn't matter if she is drinking cows milk as well.

hi, my dd is 11 month on friday and since about 9/10 months she has refused her formula feeds just havnh 3/4 oz a day, my HV said not to worry as long as she was having cheese and yoghurts for the calcium.

I started giving cows milk on cereal at about 10months (i didnt realise you could use it at 6 months!)and was told that 3/4oz of cows milk to drink everyday insted of the formula would be a good idea as if using both cows milk and formula baby's tummy can get rather upset and they can become constipated.

now my dd loves cows milk, she will have 9oz if i give her it in a bottle, i spoke to my HV again about this with her being under 1, and she said that it is fine as she wasnt having any formula any way.
