Just wondered if anyone has tips on getting into a routine with daytime naps. My 10 wk LO will currently only nap if i'm holding her, and wakes up quickly if i put her down. Maybe just a phase, but would welcome opinions!

Hi jojo, it may just be a phase but and i say BUT my lo is exactly the same if she even has a daytime nap that is!! Although it gets to this time about 5 ish and she is so knackered that she will sleep just about anywhere. Its really hard as i believe if you want to get them in a bedtime routine to keep them douwnstairs with lights on and noise and then dark in there cot upstairs for night time so they know the difference but you could try putting your lo upstairs during the day for a nap just with the curtains open and if she screams (i know its so so hard) but let her cry for 10 mins or even 5 mins is long enough then try to settle her without picking her up. Think its just a trial and error thing now adays and my lo has always done what shes wanted during the day but i dont complain as she sleeps 12 hrs a night. Good luck with it it will sort itself out as long as your getting your kip at night thats the most important. x

Thank you Kirsty, I'll give that a go. It will help me put her in her cot too, if i do it during the day. I still have her in the moses basket and i think I'll find it really hard to make that change.
12 hours a night is fab. We haven't got there yet, but she is a good night time sleeper, thank god! xx

Hi jojo, I take Angelo to his room for naps and keep the room as dark as possible. I find this to be the best solution for getting him to take naps so he knows thats where he goes to sleep. Somehow he seems to know the difference between these naps, which can be anything from 30 mins to 2.5hrs and his nightime sleep, which isn't great but he will go for a stretch of 6 to 8 hours. xxx
