    Hi ladies,

My doctor today advised me that she thought I should think about weaning LO early as it might help with LO's colic. Lo is 16 weeks and I had planned to wait as long as possible, but I am definitely open to the suggestion if it helps ease the dreaded colic as it's soul destroying and not getting better!! She's never been a big boob lover and her weight is starting to slow, I know I have plenty milk and have spent the last month trying to up the quality of my milk incase it was that but I just don't think she's interested in milk!! Little monkey!!

I hadn't really thought about weaning yet so am now having a wee freak out!! I was wondering if there were any ladies out there who weaned their LO's early because of colic, did it help?? My HV isn't very helpful so I've been researching it today and then thought I'd ask on here!

For ladies who weaned early, how slow do I take it if I do start early?? I don't really want to ask the HV as she's quite frankly a muppet, she makes me feel like a crap mum every time I speak to her!! She slapgged off my reusables so I really don't like her!! ;\)

I'm really not sure what to do for the best and am very confused but would love to have a happy content baby as seeing her in distress is just heart breaking!!

Hi we weaned early on advise from doctor because of colic. im not sure how much it helped as we found out around this time that lizzie was intolerent to cows milk protien and lactose so these stopped may have also helped improve her colic.
So in a word yes it helped but i canht say her colic clearing was soley down to weaning.
we started with just small amount of fruit once a day after milk at lunch time. we had to stay on the same food and amount for 3 days- this helped us take things slowly.
