arrgghhh - I need some help i'm finding this soooo confusing

I've got my forms and someone offered to call me up and go thru them with me so they've just called and now i'm even more confused!!

Right its a bit long winded but bear with me...
it was mainly the income thing that was bothering me - mu oh is a director of a company but is officially employed so we got his income sorted ok, then it came to me
When I was working full time I earned ??20500 gross per annum. I went on maternity leave on 31 August and got 6 weeks at 90% then following at Statutory maternity. I came back to work 4 days a week last monday. Now they've told me to put down ??4140 for my gross income from April 2007 - April 2008!!! I earnt more than that??!! Now i'm worried they are gonna pay me too much and then want it back.

Can anyone tell me in idiots terms how this works?? I am intelligent but this one has just got me!!

thanks and sorry for boring everyone

hi, we also had this problem, the people on the phone werent very helpful. in the end i just put down what i actually earned for that year, id rather be paid less and then them realise and get a nice cheque rather than being paid too much and having to pay it all back xx

When you add in your maternity pay take off ??100. for every week that you received maternity pay (so the weeks that you receive ??112. only add in the ??12.)
The best thing is to ring and speak to someone else. I've learnt from personal experience that 1 person can give you information and it can turn out to be completely wrong which is really annoying when you are making decisions about your career, childcare and in fact the important stuff in life based on what they tell you!!!

When I applied for this I was told to put down what I earned from my P60. I told them I was on maternity leave but that wouldnt count until the next review as its from last years earnings. If you apply withing 3 months of your baby's birth you will get it backdated. The forms are a nightmare but stick with it cause the money is better in your pocket than theirs.
    Hope this helps
